It is with great appreciation and dedication that I move into the President role for the Leamington District Chamber of Commerce for its 88th year of operation. I am honored to serve alongside Directors returning for another year of service, as well as Directors who have newly committed to being a part of the leadership of this great organization.

Our business community has been through some challenging times in the past few years, with continuing challenges ahead, and the Chamber is dedicated to walking beside you to support you along the way. In the year ahead we have many great things to look forward to, including celebrating the Municipality of Leamington’s 150th anniversary. The Chamber has many great networking events and workshops for you to participate in. Be sure to check the events page on our website regularly, and to read the informative newsletters Wendy sends out, so you don’t miss your chance to ‘be seen’ and ‘belong’.

In the year ahead we will continue to foster our relationship with our local governments at all levels, including Caldwell First Nation, so we can ensure that we have a voice at the table and can bring forward the needs of our business community. For us to bring your needs forward, and for you to ‘be heard’, we need to hear from you. Our staff and our Board of Directors are here to listen so please bring your pain points, and your wins, to our attention. While advocacy is always a focus for the Chamber, so is celebrating the successes of our businesses. There’s no better way to showcase the great things that are happening than our annual signature event, the Business Excellence Awards. It’s great to see everyone come together to cheer each other on, and to celebrate together the strength of our region. Hope to see you there this year!

As a final thought, I’d like to note that a Chamber of Commerce is nothing without its members. To all of you who continue to support us through your membership, through your attendance at events, and through your dedication to the prosperity of our community, I’d like to say, “Thank you”. Your ongoing support is appreciated.
